From April 4th-9th, SUN‘n FUN will hold its 43rd international fly-in expo in Florida.
The expo started in 1974 by a small group of dedicated aviation enthusiasts.
According to their website, “the annual event, held in April, has grown into the second largest event of its kind in the world and is Florida’s largest annual convention.”
The event raises more than $430,000 of scholarship funds and makes them available annually to students in Polk County entering an Aerospace Industry.
This is to cover the cost of flight lessons and/or college tuition for 4 years.
SUN’n FUN’s mission statement is to “preserve and enhance the future of flight through world-class events, inspiring and educating people of all ages.”
The event is open to the public and offers a variety of activities and programs including air show performances, career fairs, kid zones, museum programs, and aerospace educator’s workshops.
